What Is Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAP)?

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a powerful therapeutic approach where clients engage with horses as part of their mental health treatment. These sessions are grounded, hands-on experiences designed to support emotional regulation, trauma recovery, confidence-building, and deeper personal insight.

Unlike recreational horseback riding, our sessions take place on the ground and are guided by licensed clinicians alongside trained equine specialists — creating a safe, intuitive space for healing.

What Is Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAP)?

Each session is uniquely tailored to your needs and goals. You may work with one or more horses to observe, connect, and explore emotional patterns in a safe and nonjudgmental environment.

Common session elements include:

  • Groundwork with horses (no riding)
  • Mindfulness and body awareness
  • Emotional processing and therapeutic dialogue
  • Trauma-informed exercises for trust, boundaries, and connection
